A Place To Call Our Own Ltd is a registered charity that was started by a group of carers in 1991.
We are a safe accessible place in the community for children and young people with a disability or additional need, their carers and families. We aim to support children and their families through lots of different services and facilities such as : one to one, telephone and email support.

Support packages are tailored to the individual service user and delivered by one of our support workers for up to two years. Services vary widely but can include help with budgeting and finances, signposting or other services such as confidence building and social skills. In Mansfield the service is available to the over 60's or anyone over 40 years of age with physical and/or sensory impairments.

Our group is run by parents, to help and support families of children on the Autistic Spectrum.

Pathological Demand Avoidance Syndrome is a pervasive developmental disorder related to, but significantly different from, autism and Asperger syndrome.
The group also offers advice and information to anyone living or working with a child or adult diagnosed with PDA.
